Teaching means molding concepts and information in a way that is understandable for a specific group of students to comprehend. My teaching process involves a lot of drawing. When explaining concepts to students I teach using pictures. I want my students to not only hear the information but to also visually see and comprehend the ideas as well. I believe issues in motivating students sometimes come about from not giving students enough individual attention and not having enough variety in the school day. I believe that putting in the effort to even just walk around the classroom and do a quick check in with students and also make sure they’re focused on the task assigned could make a change in their motivation. I myself cannot sit down and put my full focus on a presentation that is longer than 20 minutes long, so I can’t expect my students to either. The school day should be filled will different activities that get the children up and moving and collaborating with each other. However, there should also be time put aside to sit down and learn lessons that come with learning tasks for the students to do individually. My personal goal as a teacher is to build a curriculum and environment for my students where they can flourish, grow and feel comfortable coming to me with any concerns they have. As a teacher, I would describe myself as passionate, energetic and happy. I believe that I am constantly learning and adapting my teaching style to what fits my students needs best. In my classroom students will not only learn content but will also build character. Students will learn to problem solve and learn skill for effectively communicating with others. They will learn to be responsible for their materials and build on their understanding of what respect means. Students will also learn how to operate different forms of technology. These skills will be very helpful for them in the future or even for a future career. Some students do not have access to technology in their homes, so I find it very important for them to be able to interact with them in the classroom. I believe the purposes of education are to grow intellectually, expand understanding of multiple subjects, form connections, and help build character. I believe the best learning environment for students is somewhere where they feel safe, they can collaborate with their peers, and somewhere where they can move around and dynamically learn.
