This is a poster I created for the first grade dual language class I worked with. On this day the para professional some of the students work with expressed to me that many of the students in her group were not listening or following directions when she was trying to give them instructions.
I sat the whole class down and we had a conversation about respecting each other and the way we show respect towards our teachers. This led to creating a poster of what learning looks like and what it doesn't look like. The students were the ones that told me what to draw and label for learning and not learning. This poster is still in the classroom and is referenced when students start to get distracted in class. It is very important to remind students to respect each other and respect the teachers they work with. |
